A traveling psychologist’s thoughts about himself.

It was 1989. I remember well that psychology class when we were first asked: what field we would like to work in later. The question made all hell break loose. Some people felt like they wanted to research the lives of dolphins, a colleague wanted to work on the psychology of poetry, a colleague felt the psychology of prisons was closest to her at the age of 19. In this heightened atmosphere, I had to say something very funny and catchy. That’s how the phrase “travel psychologist” slipped out of my mouth. That’s what I want to be a travel psychologist…to travel, to go to many places and to be useful. I was surprised that no one laughed at my super humor… Even the colleague who asked me looked at me with interest… At that time, I didn’t know that I had formulated the essence of consulting work and said what I would actually be: a travel psychologist. A regular travel psychologist.

Inspector Columbo on Futrinka Street

In the past 20 years, I have been in a consulting relationship with nearly 100 companies . Real Futrinka Street: a forced one-person business, a large family business, a franchise network, a multinational holding. What exactly did I do? Inspector Columbo’s task: uncovering and resolving deadly conflicts and misunderstandings, (organizational diagnostics) strengthening and raising seemingly losing businesses , (training and coaching)   separating useless things from essential processes (process organization, loss reduction, KAIZEN). I also had a job where I had to remedy workplace problems caused by a real thief (team rebuilding) and helping bank branch employees recover after the shock of an armed attack. (mental health support) .

If anyone still thinks I’m a serious person after all this, please take a look at  my professional resume .

Good day everyone!
